Railway gauging is a three dimensional problem.

Track geometry combines horizontal alignment, vertical profile and cant simultaneously. Vehicle geometry is articulated, with every component moving differently through a curve. Infrastructure is irregular, and increasingly captured through LiDAR surveys with millimetric detail.

WagonFit works with all of it in a single 3D model. Horizontal alignment, vertical profile and cant combined. Any vehicle configuration, from a single carbody to arbitrary articulated layouts. Any infrastructure geometry, built from surfaces, lines, points or point cloud data.

A kinematic solver built for geometry.

At the core of WagonFit is a real time kinematic solver that determines vehicle position using geometric and anatomical parameters alone. Stiffness, damping and inertial data are not required.

This makes the analysis accessible from the earliest stages of a project, when the vehicle exists as geometry and little else. And it makes comparative studies against existing vehicles straightforward, since only their geometric parameters are needed.
